Red Pine Memories
When I was young my family had a cottage (an old farmhouse) in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. We had 75 acres and my parents decided to plant red pines for a reforestation project.
My memory tells me it cost $1 for 1000 trees.
For a number of years we would have tree planting weekends. We would invite friends to dig and plant and bring food. Someone would dig a hole and as kids my sisters and I would put a small tree in the hole, water it, and tamp the earth down.
All in all a great memory.
